01- The Context

Two designer brothers with a passion for design approached us with an ambitious project: to develop the first line of high-end, comfortable, customizable, lifetime-guaranteed products made entirely from recycled plastic and fully recyclable.

To start things off, the first product is a chair—a chair with a bold design, true to the spirit of POLIMAIR.

02- The Preliminary Study

Given the technical challenges, we needed to be sure we were heading in the right direction :

  • Study of technical solutions
  • Research into industrial manufacturing processes
  • Search for eco-friendly materials
  • Validation of design constraints
  • Pre-validation of mechanical performance

03- Prototype Iterations

With the main guidelines set, full-scale design work began to test the product :

  • Mechanical design
  • Structural dimensioning through calculations
  • Prototyping
  • Assembly and testing

Several iterations were necessary to develop a product that fully met the specifications.

04- Industrialization

Once the industrial partner, mold maker, and injection molder were validated, it took several months of work to transition from a machined prototype to mass production.
